Great site! Rode Scorpions as a kid, just recently bought three, a 1973 stinger 440, a 1979 sting 440, and a 1979 whip, great sleds, hope to restore the sting, sold the stinger to a friend, and will be selling the Whip once put back together.

LAVERN D NYSTROM     Crosby, MN     2003-12-13
I read your article in the Crosby paper. I had a Mark I 275cc, 16 HP as a Christmas present at 16 yrs. Your website is awesome.

Like Homer Simpson or Donny D would say: mmmm ... SCORPION .. mmmm

Robb Parthemore     Perkins Township, Ohio     2003-12-04
I have a 79 Scorpion 440 snowmobile, it runs good, but likes to foul the plugs. I got it free from a neighbor who let it sit for years in the back yard.

Dave Klehn     Fingerlakes Region, N.Y.     2003-11-30
My first two sleds were Scorpions 1966 (15 h.p.) & 1973 Super Stinger 440 (my first new sled).

Mike Engen     Duluth, MN     2003-11-17
Anybody have any information on any of the racing team members? Who were they, where did they go after Scorpion, what are they doing now. My memories as a high school student were the infamous Duluth Arena Auditorium races. The factory teams always showed, but think they bailed unfortunately because of so many machines wrecked and racers in the hospital. I remember one little short Scorpion racer that was an older guy and really an entertainer. He would get the audiences attention by holding up his fingers to let you know how many cylinders were in the Scorpion he was racing.

John Lawrence     Redford,MI     2003-11-15
I grew up with 2 Scorpions to ride, LOVED THEM! A 293 1BANGER, AND A 440 SUPER STINGER. I HAVE SPENT WEEKS DOING RESEARCH FOR A NEW MACHINE OF MY OWN, AND RAN ACROSS YOUR SITE, AND I THINK IF SCORPIONS MADE A COMEBACK, THEY WOULD DO WELL. I HAVE AN IDEA FOR A NEW MACHINE THAT A FEW COMPANIES HAVE GOTTEN BITS AND PIECES OF, BUT NOT THE WHOLE PICTURE. Thanks I enjoyed the memory!

Todd Danelski     Moose Lake , MN     2003-11-12
Your web site is the best thing since ice cold beer. Growing up next to a Scorpion dealership these sleds hold a special place in my heart. My favorite sled is my customized 1970 Mark II 400. (What A beast!!!) I also have a 1967 waiting for restoration. It should be on the trail next year.

Doug Ginther     Williston, ND     2003-11-09
I enjoyed your web site very much. Glad to see Scorpion back. Would like to find some parts for 1979 Scorpion Sting 440.

Vince Dieter     PA     2003-11-05

Mike Engen     Duluth, MN     2003-10-30
Love the web-site. Raced for Wood City Motors-Cloquet in 1970''s-very successful in grass drags. Have owned 69 Mark II, 1970 Stinger, 1971 Super Stinger, 1972 Stinger, 1979 Scorpion & raced several other years w/ Chris Swanson. Favorite machine-1971 Super Stinger racer. Wish I still had one. Currently running Ski-doo MXZ, but my heart will always be with Scorpion!!!

Garry     Winnipeg     2003-10-21
I got the info I wanted...very good site. Thanks

Jenny     Jackson, MI     2003-10-20
It''s cool to see a website like this. The first snowmobile I ever rode was a Scorpion lil'' whip that was my grandpas and we still ride it today.

Billy Nustad     FARGO, ND     2003-10-20
I HAVE A 1987 SCORPION MOPED.

Dave     Braham, MN     2003-10-19
I just recently purchased my first Scorpion, I don't know a dang thing about them, this site helped.

Gary Johnson     Fergus Falls, MN     2003-10-03
I grew up with these sleds, as our family business was a scorpion dealership from 1967-1981. It is great to see Scorpion sleds still alive. I currently and have always tried to look for old Scorps to restore. I do know of an air sled in a barn. I will try to get some more info on it and keep you posted. Of course I will try again to buy it....Please feel free to send me any updates, information or questions. Thanks for the great website!!!!

Heath Warntjes     Boyden, IA     2003-09-29
Nice to see that I am not alone in my love for Scorpions!

Jordan Wood     Canada     2003-09-22
Great site, I own a 1976 Massey Whirlwind, Just bought it about 2 days ago, and starting the restoration process. So far it seems like a great snowmobile. Can't wait to try it out!

Linda Locklear     Gulfport, MS     2003-09-08
Loved your site. Brings back great memories. My husband (Les) and I had wonderful times on our Scorpion.

Bryan Poslusny     Pine City, MN     2003-09-08
Great website! I was very honored when Dick Harrison one of the founders of TAS came up to me at the recent HAY DAYS GRASS DRAGS and checked out our large supply of New and Used original Scorpion parts.

Ernie LeClair     Plymouth, CT     2003-09-03
Thanks for the great website. I was a Scorpion dealer for 1969 to 1981. I have a collection of 8 Scorpions which 6 of them have been restored. Also I own the largest inventory of Scorpion parts in the world, with over 4,000 part numbers in stock.

Scott     MN     2003-08-24
Back in the late 60s Scorpions were driven in the crosby 4th of July parade, they put wheels on the skis. I wonder where those wheels are today?

Joyce Bellefeuille Braak     Baxter, Mn     2003-08-14
I enjoyed the website and is well displayed. Lots of memories. My husband Ben Bellefeuille (deceased) worked for Scorpion 1967 - 1974.

Dave Bellefeuille     Brainerd, Mn     2003-08-14
My father Ben worked for Scorpion in Crosby during the late 60''s and early 70''s.

Brian Peterson     Milaca, MN     2003-08-07

jake hollenbeck     Northern New York     2003-08-05
I am a die hard Scorpion fan. My grandfather was a dealer for Scorpion for many years I think that this site and the people who made it are truly awesome. It shows people the real snowmobile and how it was developed. Scorpion is the fastest, longest lasting, most dependable snowmobile ever made. Thanks for an awesome site!.....P.S if anyone has any or Scorpion stuff and is interested in giving it away contact me at jjlax@slic.com thank you

Randy Deorksen     Kelowna, BC - Canada     2003-07-09
Great site I have been a fan since 1969 when my dad and brothers took on the franchise. We had a 275 mark1 and a stinger 340 single that we used for promotion and racing. That sled was fast for what it was. Does anybody have any ads with the 1970 stinger in it. I have looked for years and have never seen one. Keep up the great site.

ED STABB     Boonville, NY     2003-06-14
Great site, I collect Scorpions at this time i have 17 from 64 to 80 in all stages of resto, many run and can be driven, my latest are 2 66s and an aqua 64 which are real hard to find parts but we will Thanks for great site - ED

Dan Theis     Northern MN     2003-06-08
Does anyone out here have info on racing the 440TKs? Seems like a pretty quick sled and I am looking for info to possibly race mine.

Todd Henriksen     Arkdale WI     2003-05-28
Hello and thanks for such a great site. I have a few Scorpions I need help identifying. Does anyone have a complete list from Scorpion of years, models, engines mid 60s to early 70s? Can anybody help? Thanks, Todd

Les Pratt     Regina, Sask     2003-05-08
We have had (and still have) Scorpions. First was a 71 Stinger II 290 (Wedge). Second a 72 340 Stinger II (1 cylinder). Third a 72 Super Stinger III. 4th a 72 Stinger I 290. 5th a 77 Lil whip. 6th a 77 whip 340, 7th a 74 440 Super Stinger. We are dyed in the wool Scorpion Fanatics (anything with scorpion on it is ok for me, be it Trail a Sled, Fuqua, or re-badged Arctic...Sidewinder).

John Ebinger     brainerd, mn     2003-04-30
Excellent history of Scorpion.

Les Locklear     Gulfport, MS     2003-04-22
I was the parts manager for Scorpion from early 69 until late 71. A friend in Minnesota sent the website to me. I am now retired from the federal government and have been living down on the gulf of mexico since may, 1972. I lived just east of Len Corzine and Claude Meyers near Serpent Lake. I enjoyed the pictures and history!

Jim Smith     Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada     2003-04-06
I have recently purchsed an early Polaris Air sled. This one has been repainted and the serial plate is missing (or I just haven''''t found it yet).

Leigh Frink     Brainerd     2003-04-04
Happy to see the web site. Wish you had some pictures on what they once called the cosmocozies. And pictures on the s and bull whip and other less common ones.

Richard Shantz     Waterloo, Ontario, Canada     2003-03-28
Just discovered your site, the history of Scorpion was very interesting, now I know why my JLO powered MotoSkis had to switch to BSE engines in the early 70s. I own a 73 Super Stinger 400 RV with the red metal flake hood. This sled is in excellent original condition, I drove it 300 miles this past winter. The last ride I broke the left rear suspension spring, but was able to purchase 2 new ones from Kimpex. I love this Scorpion as much as my old MotoSkis. Its a real classic and I expect to ride it for many years to come.

Rodney Dragan     Howards Grove, WI     2003-03-28
I enjoy your site. As a kid snowmobiling in the 70''s I remember many Scorpions on the trail. My brother owns a ''66 with a 252 JLO.

David Schneider     New London, MN     2003-03-23
Love the site!

Mark Mosher     Gorham, Maine     2003-03-22
I really enjoyed the account of the company history! Especially since I still have one of those 1964 aqua colored all fiberglass sleds with the first vulcanized track. (ser. 20069; mod. TW-5250) It still runs the fields and trails that my brother and I ran it on since new, only now with my sons (ages 9 and 14). It is pretty much original except for the bogeys and the seat which has been reupholstered several times. The front bumper I recently replaced with a heavier piece of aluminum tubing, and it is on its third (original equipment) track-which isn't too bad for a sled which turns 40 next season!

Tom Brabec     Willow River, Mn. 55795     2003-03-16
This is a great piece of information. I'm 47 years old, my family had 4 Scorpions when I was in High School. They sold them, but now I've been able to buy 2 1973 Super Stingers. I've got alot of friends that have Scorpions, so we go riding a lot. Thanks. Tom Brabec

Scott Meadows     Athena, Oregon     2003-03-15
Very nice site! Great history!

Brian Hanson     Grand Meadow, MN     2003-03-10
Great site! I just got a mint 69 Mark III home that matches the one Dad had. At least it matches the pictures, and my 6-year-old memory. Would like info on tracking ser. #''''s etc.

Lia Frey-Rabine     Niddatal, Germany     2003-03-08
Saw the superb article in the Courier, and finally hit your website, halfway around the world, but ever proud to be from CI. The Cuyuna Range might be a small speck on the map, but it''''s quite obvious that there has always been a nurturing environment there, turning out a host of talented, dedicated people who leave their mark on the world. While growing up, we might have groused about the stifling atmosphere of small-town life, but when I look at the results, I am grateful for having been born and raised in such a place! Thank you for keeping this integral part of CI history alive. Sincerely, Lia Frey-Rabine

Tim Miller     Hutchinson, MN     2003-03-02
Great site! Does anyone know who manufactured the early rubber tracks? and can I still get one?

David Sunnarborg     ESKO, MN     2003-02-28
I OWN A 1963 MODEL TRAIL A SLED. IT RUNS AND GOES GOOD. I WOULD LIKE TO FIND SOMEONE ELSE WITH ONE AND FIND OUT HOW TO MAKE IT GO BETTER. ALSO INFO OF GATHERINGS OR REUNIONS ETC.

Richard A. krogstad     TRF MN.     2003-02-25
I have restored a 1966 Sears and Roebuck snowmobile built by Scorpion. Its a light green in color with a white seat. there are no Sears decals, but on the serial plate it reads Sears and Roebuck

William Deiter     Clarksville, TN     2003-02-24
I just got back from Minnesota, and to anyone that read my last letter, there was no embarrassing going on, parts showed up way too late, nothing major, just a factory clutch, which after 27 years, decided to take a caribbean cruise, but I did get to ride about 50 miles, brothers 81 sidewinder is a screamer! Although not REALLY scorpion, I imagine given the chance, and snow!!!!, it will let a lot of folks see the name scorpion passing them up, also, show me one COMET clutch that lasts thru 27 years of use, or abuse, whichever, on nothing more than a can of WD40. The Brut/Salsbury, or Powerthrust2 as scorpion calls it, is the most awesome clutch around!!!!!!!!

JON     CENTRAL WISCONSIN     2003-02-24
Great site! We currently have 3 Scorpions left. We have a ''''74 Super Stinger and 2 ''''81 Sidewinders. All are in great condition and I hope to restore each of them to new condition some day. I have already restored and sold 2 Mark III''''s and can''''t wait to start a Sidewinder next. SCORPIONS FOREVER!

Carol     Minn     2003-02-23
My sister has a 67 s280 scorpion, all original parts (windshield, seat, track, ect.) and she was wondering if anyone was interested in buying it. and if not, do you know how much she could get for it. it is in mint shape. thanks for any help you could give me. Carol

Brian Harwick     Pine Grove, PA     2003-02-21
Own a 1972 purple Stingerette

Rick Lough     Wright, MN     2003-02-20
Checking back once again at this authentic site. Anyone out there wanting to help organize or plan a Scorpion only vintage run in Minnesota somewhere? If there is enough interest the event could take shape next winter. Subject to snow conditions of course. e mail me if interested. Once again, LONG LIVE US SCORPION FANS!

Garry Zayac     Alberta, Canada     2003-02-17
Excellent site!!! I have been a Scorpion rider and fan since I was 6 years old when I got to drive my dads sled. That was 29 years ago. I have in my possession the 1973 Super Stinger 400 RV that my dad bought brand new. For the last 3 years it has been at 95% showroom condition. It still gets ridden, when there is snow, every chance I can. Just a lot more careful now!! Once again excellent site just found it today, but will check back often.

Scott Brown     Merlin, On. Canada     2003-02-11
We had several Scorpion sleds in our family starting with a 1970 Mark iv, then a 1971 stinger, 1973 super stinger, a 1971 stingeroo, and a 1975 whip 400. My uncles and my grandparents also had scorpions, the old bubble noses, the suits, boots, helmets, and my Dad''''s original old scorpion suit from 1970 is still hanging up looking neat, and my mom still wears her original seal fur scorpion boots we got for her in the mid 1970''''s. My first ride was on a stinger in 1970, when I was 6 years old, and I was hooked. My last sled was to be a new sidewinder, but the company went out of business before my dealer could get me one. I finally sold my Whip 400 ( with the metallic blue hood ) in 1990., and I haven''''t owned a sled since, even though I almost bought a 1972 super stinger 340 last year with the ccw engine in it so I could introduce sledding to my boys. I really appreciate your web sight, it has brought back a ton of great fun filled childhood memories. We lived for these sleds back then, I even remember when my dad took delivery of his new 1971 stinger (with the wedgie hood) we had to try it out in June of that year in the clover field. We ran it all day around the clover field. Thanks again

Bill Eastman     Maple Grove, MN     2003-02-11
Thanks for bringing back memories. My Grandfather, John Eastman, ran Eastman Machine and Tool in the 60''s and early 70''s in Pillager, MN. We built all of Scorpion''s rubber molds including drive wheels, bogie wheels, and tracks. At one time we had nine Scorpions in the family including a 793 Hirth honker Super Stinger. We lost the business in 1971 when Scorpion switched to off-the-shelf bogies and the Gates involute drive polyurethane track. Our second business was modifying snowmobile engines for power- five and seven porting, full-circling cranks, etc. Anyway, thanks for the memories, Bill

Bill Eastman     Maple Grove, MN     2003-02-11
Again, great site! I saw your picture of the Spyder Dune Buggy. I don''''t know if Scorpion built 25 but, in a sealed bid, we bought the parts that were left over, enough to build about 15-20. My summer job was assembling them. The bodies had no holes drilled and we got no directions but I got them together. I drove mine for years- the 290 CCW was in my Stinger in the winter and the buggy in the summer. Regards, Bill

Rick Lough     Wright, MN     2003-02-10
Great site! I currently have six scorpions. 68 mark II, 73 stinger, 74 stinger wide track with electric start, 74 stingerette, 75 whip 400, and a 80 whip 440. Love them as much as I do my wife. Long live us Scorpion fans!

Richard Krogstad     Thief River Falls, MN     2003-02-09
I met you people at the Pequot Lakes event and donated some slides and pictures of the old Scorpions that I had. Hope you can use them.

Jeffrey Smith     Cohasset, MN     2003-02-09
Last year I recieved a 73 Super Stinger 440 from my father-in-law. His father bought this sled new. I am currently restoring the sled in memory of him. Its great to see good websites of Scorpions on the web. The info is great. And so is the Scorpion legacy.

I wish to express my gratitude to the hosts and webmaster/webmistress, of this site. Because there are SOOOOOOOO many out there like me, a died in the wool, Paulson-era SCORPOHOLIC, who, without the good nature of these fine people, would have NOWHERE to go, on the web. I say this, because as everyone well knows, the 71s were pretty much [I think] the last TAS sleds produced, and then you fall into the void. There is no other website for Scorpion sleds that includes Fuqua and Scorpion Inc, and if they don't already know, the Paulson era Scorpions would make them proud, attesting to the pride and attention to detail that was built into every Crosby built sled. I am currently on my way to Minnesota to embarrass a few sled owners, with a certain 77 Rangewhip Sting 440 that has been chomping at the bit now for the last two years. Thank You for this site!

William Deiter     Tennessee     2003-02-04
Here's a small correction for my post a short ways down the list. While what I said was correct to the best of my knowledge, at the time, it is proving to be quite frustrating with the model years, I have found a couple people just recently that have sleds that I KNOW were marketed as 80 models, that have a 78 production date on the tunnel, so like I said before, when they try to order 79 parts and get the wrong things, it can be upsetting, its proving to be a case where after the Cat fiasco, it was everybody for themselves, cause they sure didnt care about the production codes after that, its proving out that Cat came in, used up whatever was leftover, and shut her down, which is what I said they wanted to do all along. Scorpion is still king of the hill to me, anyone wanting technical assistance can feel free to email me.

Tom Standerford     SE Nebraska     2003-02-04
This site is great. A chance to learn more about a wonderful line of sleds.

Tony Rodkey     Illinois     2003-02-03

If you want it sent somewhere other then the Crosby address please email me. Also do you have a copy of The Scorpion Story a small booklet for the 1976 season? If not let me Know And I will get you one of these also.

This is great for me because I'm doing a report on Dick Harrison and this web site has a timeline which I need and history and pics.

Rick Patrick     Harrisburg, PA     2003-01-26
I was so pleased to find this site. I have been riding Scorpions since 1969 and still ride two Scorpions now. It was great to see some of the images that I remember from the past. Especially the parasailer and the Chuck Connors add.

Dave Ruble     Ravenna, Mich - 49451     2003-01-23
I sold scorpions for seven years. We still ride Scorpions. The oldest one we have is a 1966. They are still a great sled.

Paul McKinley     Ontario, Canada     2003-01-17
I truly enjoy your website. I have a 1970 Mark 2 Scorpion 340 and I am glad to see that others share my interests in these beautiful machines. Thank you for the great website.

John Lawson     Temple, NH     2003-01-17
This is an awesome website. Very inspiring and informative. My father had a 1970 Scorpion Stinger with a 398 Sachs. He had and oversized piston installed. That thing really was one of the fastest sleds ever. I have a 1970 Scorpion Mark II with a Sachs SA290SS in it, that I''''ve restored. I am in need of the Round headlight housing and headlight ring or bezel. (these items were used on all of the 1968, 69 and 70 Scorpion Snowmobile models). Please help... Thanks, J.L.

Pat Doneth     Lake Orion, Mich.     2003-01-17
A very good read, enjoyed it!

Tom Nelson     Watkins Glen, NY     2003-01-12
I ride a 72 Scorpion Stinger II.

Les Hale     Clarksville, MI USA     2003-01-11
Great site. I only own 1 Scorpion right now, a 1981 Sidewinder. I did own a Massie Whirlwind model for several years. It was a 1976 Scorpion Whip 340 with a different hood. I expect Ill find another Scorpion I cant live without someday. Honestly, we beat the poor Massie/Scorpion hard and put it away wet for years. Lots of para-rail riding with no snow. Crashed it. Water-skipped it. It lasted years longer than many sleds would have. It might even still be around. It was traded off as a restoration project. Ill check back here for new info.

Pat & Jerry Eve     Montana     2003-01-07
Great sleds and great people. Been a big part of our lives. Thanks !!

Gerry Schram     Wisconsin     2003-01-05
Very interesting looking at all the facts, people, history of TAS. I have been restoring a 69 Scorp, and love to know where I can get info on the sled. very cool.

Mike Midthun     Crosby, MN     2003-01-05
As a former employee with just under 12 years with the company its great to see the Scorpion image live on in your web site. They were a great snowmobile and it was a fun industry to work in.

William Deiter     Tennessee     2002-12-29
I have a little tidbit of info for everyone. With the sole exception being 1981, all Scorpion, Inc. sleds from the 1975 Whip to 1981 models, the production date usually preceeds the model, an example, my 77 sting has a date of November 76, any date including the whole month of September and on is the next model year. Example: 9/76, 10/76, 11/76, 12/76, or the months relative to those numbers, example: sept76, etc, are all 77 models. People that I speak to regularly are having trouble finding parts cause they have the wrong year. I recently spoke with someone who has a 75 Whip, who keeps calling it a 74, there is NO 74 Whip, so when he cant find parts, he gets frustrated. Hope this info helps, as always, anyone needing technical assistance can email me, I am considering doing a website called, ask the Scorpion guy, it all depends on how much response I get. Happy holidays all.

Billy Awesome     Massachusetts     2002-12-27
The first sled I ever rode was my father''''s 1970 Scorpion Stinger. It was nearly 20 years old at the time, but I''ll never forget the roar of that one-cylinder engine as it caught up with sleds half its age or newer. Sure would love to ride one again!

James Macik     Massachuttets     2002-12-17
I have a 1979 Scorpion Whip ,440 Cuyuna. I'll tell ya its awesome. Could use some rear suspension parts but besides that great! I'm a happy man for finding this sled for $100. Thanks to the men that helped me! jimmy

Dan Cottew     Coon Rapids, MN     2002-12-15
Love the site. I was also wondering if someone could tell me what make and model my Trail-A-Sled is 021-1268 and where I could get a track for it. Thanks - Dan Cottew

My father worked at the Plant for many years, I grew up riding a 68 Mark I. I am a Scorpion collector. This fall I bought a 70 Stinger, with a 400 Hirth engine, under the seat, written in yellow on the tunnel was two lines of words not ledge able, then Dick Harrison's name is written, looks like this sled was built for him? Anyway I ride many miles each year on the old machines, great sled, and great memories. - Blessings

Web designer that's setting up an Antique sled site. I have 8 scorpions from 72 to 76 and many other old sleds. Please send me some info on your events and I will include them on a page. Thank You, Dan

Scorpion has produced the fastest longest lasting sled ever. My grandfather was a dealer and raced for many years there was nothing that would even come close to touching his pair of 72 stingers. I just wanted to say that I have great pride in the company and all of the people that made it what it is. Thanks Jake

I have 2 Scorpions, one is a 75 super stinger 290, and the other is a 77 Range Whip Sting 440, with paraslide, and I am here to tell you, that NO ONE has or ever will beat Scorpions durability, my father purchased both new, and disputes to this day who actually owns them now, but they get ridden at least once a year, as long as there is snow, and the engines have never been opened for any reason other than one set of points on the 440, anyways, I have a lot of experience with them if someone needs help, feel free to email me. Great Web site by the way.

Grew up in Embarrass, MN next door to a Scorpion dealer Chuck Stella. First sled was a 69 Mark3 297 Sachs and I rode a 73 Super Stinger 400rv for 17 years. Although I called them Scrapions, I loved them and they where tough sleds.

Very cool site. The red, white, and black graphics sure do set it off. I own several Scorpions, ranging from a ''66 to an ''81 Sidewinder and have always thought they are the best.

Wow, I don't know how I stumbled across this site just out of the blue! It''s great! I own a 1976 Massey Whirlwind. I think the Super Stingers and Whips are true SNOW-mobiles. From 2 to 20 inches of snow, they go where very few others will.

Great site!

Great site I worked for Glendik Mfg. in late 60s. made thousands of clutches for the old scorps. Hope none of them ever blew up!

Our first snowmobile was a 69 Mark 1. Put a lot of miles on it and it never let us down. Today I have a few models of my liking in my collection which I take on vintage rides.

Scorpions were great sleds. I have had a Whip 440 since 1979 that still runs great and looks great. You cant say that about many other makes. Thanks for the great history and site!

Question - did Scorpion make a wide track elec start sled in 1974. Someone is selling one and I would like to know if this is true. Thank you for any info if this is true I will pick it up.

Dan Bocain     East Dundee, IL     2002-11-18
Keep up the good work. Read about you in the V.S.C.A. mag. I am restoring a 73 400 r.v. and picking up for my son a 74 widetrack. I thought about restoring other sleds [I am a polaris rider] but I have always liked Scorpions since I started sledding back in 1967. Take care and thank you!

My dad was a Scorpion Dealer from the early to late 70s in a small town in NH. (I almost wonder if he was one of those small town mechanics, chainsaw dealerships anyone who might be interested in expanding their winter business stops along Glens easwardly trek. I grew up on the sleds and currently own 3 today. (Over time, I plan on starting my own little collection, if anyone knows where I can find a 76ish - Lil Whip... please let me know.) This site has been added to my Favorites, and I plan on being a frequent visitor. A suggestion I would make, is to have a bulletin board on here for parts and memorabilia seekers. Thx again for the site!

Our neighbor had a 1966 or ''67 Scorp. when I was a kid back then and it was the first sled I ever rode on. It lit the fire. We ended up buying Ski-doo but my ''70 Oly was eaten alive by this same neighbor''''s new (''70) Scorp. Stinger. The best looking sled I think I''ve ever seen out of a crate!

Former employee and current scorpion owner. I still own the 75 Whip 340 I bought new.

David Shusterich     Plymouth and Nisswa, MN     2002-11-10
I thoroughly enjoyed the site! I have a 1972 Stingeroo in perfect condition and have been a fan of the founder's story for several years. I went through Crosby in the mid nineties and drove by the former plant for the first time. The feeling that I felt seeing it I remember to this day. A feeling of excitement of what the company and its employees did for the sport and community and also a feeling of sadness for the unfulfilled hopes and dreams of the founders, and employees as the industry transitioned itself in the early 80''s and the Scorpion brand wasn't able to continue the ride. Thanks for the website. I'll be a frequent visitor.

Thank you for putting this site together. The 1970 and older sleds are endless classics. I am restoring a 68 mark III. Any info on locating correct engine decals would be helpful. Thanks again for your work on this site.
