Historic February
Story from
Iron Dog
Tracks Vol. 20, No. 5
Steve Pierce,
ASCOA
member and contributing editor ~ February 5, 2005 saw Crosby,
Minnesota give a hearty "Welcome Home" to the snowmobile synonymous with
the town as the first Scorpion Homecoming was held on Serpent Lake.
Nearly 275 Trail-A-Sled and Scorpion
products created an impressive line-up not likely to be duplicated.
What a glorious day for a celebration as
Air Sleds, Stingers, Bull Whips and Quadtracs, all shone brightly in the
sun.
The
ASCOA was
in attendance as collectors, former employees, racers and founders all
donned their Scorpion garb and slipped once gain into the part. The
names and faces we associate with Scorpion were present - Gutzman,
Harrison and Pinz. All were happy to tell a tale and share some old
memories.
The media was on hand to document this
historic reunion.
C.J. Ramstad snapped photos. Ron Schara, whose first snowmobile was
a Scorpion, featured the event on a television episode of
Minnesota Bound.
A ride around the lake, a peek inside the
Scorpion Museum and an auto tour of Crosby capped a most memorable
weekend..
